What is even more surprising is that she was conceived on Valentine’s Day
– And now her parents believe she is their love angel
Little Poppy-Rae is a living reminder to her parents how much they love each other and their wonderful daughter.
Poppy-Rae, now 12 weeks, was born with a birthmark shaped like a heart
A healthy and happy baby girl was born with a remarkable red and
heart-shaped birthmark in the middle of her forehead. Her parents Jade
Sparham, 20, and Liam Scaife, 21, became even more surprised after they
calculated that Poppy-Rae was concieved on Valentine’s Day.
Her mum Jade said:
“I couldn’t believe when we spotted the heart
on her head, especially after we worked out that she was conceived on
Valentine’s Day last year. It was such a lovely coincidence. It
definitely makes this Valentine’s Day extra special for us. Poppy-Rae is
like our very own cupid baby. Now Liam and I can’t stop kissing her
little face.”
A few hours after Poppy-Rae was born, Jade and Liam noticed a red mark on their daughter’s forehead.
First Jade and Liam from from Skegness, Lincolnshire, England, were
afraid that the mark could cause their daughter harm and took her to the
doctors. Fortunately, the medics allayed their fears, assuring them it
was simply a birtmark which would fade within a couple of years.
Jade was concerned Poppy-Rae might struggle with bullying or finding a boyfriend because of the unusual mark on her head
Jade added:
“At first we worried that Poppy-Rae would be bullied
as she grew up, or struggle to find a boyfriend. But now, we’ve realised
that her birthmark is what makes her unique and it makes her more
beautiful to us both.
We really believe that her little love-heart has brought us closer together as a family. If
Liam and I ever have an argument or disagreement, all we need to do is
look at Poppy and we’re reminded of how much we really love each
other. She’s so adorable, you can’t help but love her.
Poppy-Rae’s birthmark makes a heart shape on her forehead and parents Jade and Liam are embracing her unique look
As soon as her love-heart becomes more prominent, it’s a reminder
to Liam and me that she was born from our love and conceived on the day
of love. I hope Poppy-Rae’s mark never disappears. It’s a part of her,
and it makes her so unique. I wouldn’t have her any other way.”

When
I first noticed the mark on Poppy-Rae’s forehead turn bright red, I was
a little concerned because I didn’t know what it mean
A birthmark is a benign irregularity on the skin which is present at
birth or appears shortly after birth, usually in the first month. They
can occur anywhere on the skin. Birthmarks are caused by overgrowth of
blood vessels, melanocytes, smooth muscle, fat, fibroblasts, or
keratinocytes.
