TOMPOLO REACTS TO PIPELINE EXPLOSION,AGREES TO WORK WITH FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo has reacted to the attacks on oil installations in Warri Southwest local government area on Thursday night, January 14.
 Speaking to The Nation, Tompolo condemned the attack, adding that he had nothing to do with it.

A statement from the camp of the ex-Niger Delta militant reads: “I (Tompolo) am not responsible for the attack and I condemn it as a dastardly act. I am aware that some persons might want to destroy oil installations and link it with me that was why I said before time that I have nothing to do with it.

“I could not have gone ahead to carry out such action knowing that every finger will be pointed at me because of my case with the federal government.”
Speaking through Paul Bebenimibo, his media aide, Tompolo urged those who carried out the attacks to change their ways, adding he is willing to help the federal government and relevant security operatives to fish out the masterminds of the attacks.
Tompolo had raised the alarm that some people were planning to bomb crude oil facilities and pipelines in the Niger Delta region and attribute the havoc to him.
Addressing those who are still dissatisfied with the re-election of Governor Seriake Dickson, the  former militant leader said:
“I want to admonish those that are still aggrieved as a result of the outcome of the election not to resort to destruction of national assets, especially crude oil facilities and pipelines and attribute it to me because of my position on the election.”
The multiple explosions in Warri came hours after a Federal High Court in Lagos ordered security operatives to arrest the Niger Delta ex-militant leader.
