Jungle Justice! U.I. Student Stripped Naked For Stealing

A 200 level student of the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Ibadan, was on Tuesday stripped naked after allegedly being being caught stealing.
The suspected thief had allegedly been terrorizing the hostel  before he was finally caught and stripped naked for all to see.
An eyewitness who was at the Faculty of Arts where the suspect was being disgraced said, “I packed my books and rushed down to Zik hall to confirm it.
“There have been various cases of theft in the hall. I also lost my laptop, HP 2000 (6gb ram.) and my phone blackberry Z3.”
He said that by the time he got there, the thief had already been stripped and ready to be paraded around the school and the female halls.
The jungle justice metted out to the suspected thief has however received some condemnation from other students of the institutions.
In a post published on OFFICIAL GROUP OF THE STUDENTS’ UNION, UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN, a student of the same department as the suspect, Adekoya Damilola Matthew, strongly condemned the people who stripped the suspect.
“I can’t believe that in a school like ours (the first and best) that such will happen. I need to ask some certain questions. Is he the first person to steal in U.I?” Matthew wrote, using an account belonging to one Adeosun Ademola Sodiq.
“Was he caught with a gun?
“This is a learning environment and stuffs like this should not be found in our institution.
“We call ourselves “LEARNED” folks and yet we do stuffs that ought to be found among the non-literate people.
“Even if you guys want to parade him around the school premises but WHY ON EARTH WILL YOU HAVE TO NAKED HIM?”
There are unofficial reports that the school management intends to further punish the suspect
